About Sohoton Cove Natural Park

 

Located on Bucas Grande Island in the province of Surigao del Norte, Philippines, Sohoton Cove Natural Park encompasses a breathtaking landscape of emerald waters and dramatic limestone cliffs. The park is part of the larger Sohoton Cove Protected Landscape and Seascape, characterized by its unique karst formations, intricate cave systems, and hidden lagoons. Its name “Sohoton” means "narrow opening," aptly describing the park’s cove entrances and cave tunnels. Visitors can explore the park's crystal-clear turquoise waters by kayaking through small caves and mangrove forests, as well as marvel at the rare stingless jellyfish species found in the nearby Jellyfish Sanctuary. The park features a network of sea caves, including the popular Hagukan Cave and the enchanting caves interconnected by narrow waterways. The diverse ecosystem includes vibrant coral reefs, abundant fish species, and lush coastal vegetation, making it a top destination for snorkeling, swimming, and wildlife photography.
